Rosie makes it possible to accept SNAP/EBT payments as an online payment option for online guests of independent retailers.
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), provides food-purchasing assistance for families living in the U.S. SNAP is a federal program administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture under the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS). However, benefits are distributed by each U.S. state’s Division of Social Services or Children and Family Services.
SNAP is the most extensive nutrition assistance program, with over 40 million Americans estimated to have participated annually.
Rosie knows SNAP
Rosie retailer partners have been able to sell groceries online and accept in-store with SNAP payments since 2016. In 2017, Rosie retailer partner Dash’s Market was selected by the USDA to be one of the first retailers to pilot online payments.
Rosie has worked closely with the department of agriculture’s Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) to bring this important software functionality to fruition. Retailers across the country partnered with Rosie can now join this program and accept online orders with online SNAP payments.
