Rosie grew even more delightful when Misty Day joined the Account Management team earlier this month. As an expert in shopper marketing and consumer packaged goods, she understands the important role of omnichannel marketing to create delightful shopper experiences that are consistent between the brick-and-mortar stores and clickable, digital shelves.
Recently we sat down to a web chat with Misty about her grocery experience, what retailers can look forward to with Misty on at Rosie, and also to find out a little bit more about Misty as a person. You’ll never guess how many pets are in her household!
Misty, you join Rosie with experience in the grocery retail sector. Can you tell us about your experience and what talents in independent grocery you bring to Rosie?
I come to Rosie with 15+ years of sales and marketing experience. Over 10 of those years were supporting consumer packaged goods. Most recently, they were with Post Consumer Brands, focusing more than 5 years on Associated Food Stores(AFS) and their member retailers. I bring to Rosie a wealth of experience working with stores on every level, sharing best practices, and new ideas. I look forward to sharing my passion for independent retailers, partnering with AFS, and supporting everyone’s e-commerce goals.
As Rosie’s new Enterprise Account Manager, can you tell us about how you will deliver delight to Rosie partners?
I love independent retailers and working with them. I am looking forward to helping retailers with product and promotions as well as shelf presence so that they are aligned in-store and online.
When I heard about the opportunity with Rosie, it really stood out to me because it was an opportunity to continue partnering with AFS and member stores.
In my previous roles, I developed great relationships with retail, the product headquarters and all the levels in the chain. I love to work with everyone at every level. At Rosie, I am excited for the freedom and flexibility to help independents. When they succeed, we all succeed. Rosie has great relationships with AFS C-level, marketing, and IT teams, and I am hoping to help bring our relationship and partnership further. I have built relationships and credibility at AFS. I am hoping to bring Rosie partnerships to the category managers and share group leaders within AFS as well.
While I will be focused on working with AFS retailers at the outset, I won’t be working in a silo and just AFS retailers. I am also looking forward to acting as a Rosie ambassador and working with everyone to build relationships and new partnerships.
Rosie works with both single store operators and with wholesale partners. As our Enterprise Account Manager working with retail chains and wholesalers, what are some of the biggest challenges you think they face today?
Inflation is a major challenge for the grocery industry today. It is important they gain alignment and focus on win-win opportunities that allow independent retailers to compete and flourish in today’s tough economy.
Many people thought online grocery shopping was a temporary solution for the grocery industry during the pandemic, but the numbers don’t lie, it is not going away. It’s growing and changing how people shop for groceries today. What are some ways retailers can respond and grow with these changes.
Grocers can embrace online grocery shopping by creating an ecommerce grocery experience that delights their guests–from the shopper’s digital experience to groceries in their hands. Retailers should create a VIP Buy Online Pickup In Store (BOPIS) experience for their shoppers that sets them apart from their big box competitors.
We know Misty Day as our rockstar Rosie Enterprise Account Manager, but who is Misty Day outside of Rosie? What do you like to do?
I am the wearer of many hats. I am a mother to 3 amazing boys ages 7, 18, and 22. The 7 year old keeps me on my toes, as does my zoo of pets: 2 dogs, 4 cats, 1 ferret, 6 chickens, and 2 horses! I love to have fun swimming with my boys, camping, BBQ’s with friends and family, and riding my horses every chance I get. I enjoy teaching everything horse-related to anyone who wants to learn, but most importantly I love sharing my passion for riding with kids who may not be able to have the opportunity otherwise. There is nothing better than the smile on a child’s face when they meet a horse.
We’re curious to know, what’s in your basket?
Pasta! Spaghetti, lasagna, and ingredients for homemade alfredo.
